The CAI 640 hiking trail is a hike for expert hikers that starts from the Albornoz Fortress of Narni to reach the Rocchette location nearby Vacone for a beautiful experience on the mountains among Umbria and Sabina.
CAI 640 Hiking Trail: Narni Fortress - San Pancrazio Mountain - Cosce Mountain - Vacone - Rocchette.
The hike (EE difficulty), of more than 32 kilometres, starts from the Albornoz Fortress on Maggiore mountain, passing next to the remains of the old Bastion to go then towards Caprile location.Â
Passing the San Nicolò spring and the Casacce location you go up through the Mount Bandita close to Itieli and you reach the Sacred Cave of San Francesco and then the Cross San Valentino.Â
The hike continues toward Mount San Pancrazio on whose top, at the border with the municipality of Calvi dell’Umbria and with Lazio, there is an ancient Italic Sanctuary.Â
Entered in Lazio territory, the hike continues towards Mount Cosce until you get to Vacone to finally reach Rocchette.
