The Municipal Library of Narni, dedicated to Giovanni Eroli, is located on the ground floor of the homonymous palace which hosts: at the noble floor the archeological section of the museum and, and on the second floor, the art gallery.

The foundation of the library dates to 1663 when the cardinal Andrea Cardoli decided , by the will of a will, to donate the personal library to the municipality of Narni.
After a first management of the fathers of the Opere Pie of the order of the Scolopi, it was through the work of the director Giovanni Eroli – great intellectual and passionate about culture – that the book heritage grew, Also with the reception of all those texts that came from monasteries narnesi suppressed following the unification of Italy.
After a deal with the Bishop’s Curia, the ancient fund is preserved in the buildings of the former Bishopric with the diocesan fund, while the modern one is in Eroli Palace.
The Library offers to its visitors ambiences dedicated to the study and the consultation , a section of local history, a photo archive , a section dedicated to the guys and a newspaper archive.
